Ten people have died in a major road accident today in Chankathanai, Chavakacheri town, in Jaffna.

The accident happened at 1:30pm.

A passenger bus travelling towards Vavuniya collided with a private van carrying passengers from Maharagama.

All of the dead were said to be Sinhalese.
