Myliddi ammunition dump exposed

IDPs who visited Myliddy village after over 25 years have found the remnants of a dismantled ammunition dump.

Despite the armed conflict having ended almost nine years ago, the Sri Lankan military refused to vacate Myliddy village in the Jaffna district.

TNA parliamentarians had previously accused the Sri Lankan military of having constructed a major ammunition dump in the area, and cited this as the reason for the military’s refusal to vacate from the area, an accusation strongly refuted by military officials.

Photos taken by IDPs who returned to the village today revealed the remnants of a dismantled ammunition dump in the area, confirming the allegations of TNA parliamentarians in the past.
