EU court delists the LTTE

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has ordered the removal of the LTTE from the European Council’s list of terrorist organisations.

The order effectively annuls the freeze on the LTTE’s assets.

In its ruling, the ECJ has also said the European Council has failed to provide evidence that the delisting would lead to the LTTE carrying attacks in Sri Lanka.
