Ex-LTTE commander dies

A former middle ranking LTTE commander who was put through Sri Lanka’s controversial rehabilitation programme has died of dengue fever.

Ratnasingham Anantharajah (42) alias Piraiyalan, first served in the LTTE’s military wing, rising through ranks as a commander, and later becoming the political leader for Thanner Utru sector.


Admitted to Mullaithivu Hospital a week ago, he passed away today.
