Government pays no attention to Tamil protests – Wigneswaran

The chief minister of Northern Tamil Eelam has lamented that the Sri Lankan government is paying no attention to the protests of Tamils on various issues.

Mr C.V.Wigneswaran made the accusation on Monday during a meeting with┬áHeinz Walker-Nederkoorn, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Sri Lanka, when the latter made a curtesy call to the former’s office in Jaffna.

The Northern chief minister also accused the Sri Lankan government of plundering the resources of the Tamil homeland, with the government-sponsored overfishing by Sinhala fishermen off the seas of Nayaru, Mullaithivu, being a recent example.
