Human Rights Watch: The Sri Lankan government has been all talk

The Human Rights Watch has accused the Sri Lankan government of doing nothing to repeal the draconian Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA).

In a report released today, Brad Adams, the Asia Director of Human Rights Watch, said: ‘The Sri Lankan government has been all talk and no action on repealing the reviled PTA. Replacing this draconian counterterrorism law with one that meets international standards should be an urgent priority if the government is serious about protecting human rights.’
