Jaffna violence linked to ECJ ruling – TNPF

The TNPF has accused the Sri Lankan government of stepping-up violence in Jaffna in an attempt to prevent the delisting of the LTTE by the EU.

Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, Selvarajah Gajendran, the general secretary of the TNPF, said the Sri Lankan government has been staging gang violence in Jaffna in the run up to and after the ruling of the ECJ for the deproscription of the LTTE.

Mr Gajendran also accused the Sri Lankan government of using ex-LTTE combatants as pawns in its game.
