Westminster Magistrates' Court has issued a warrant for arrest of Brig. Priyankara Fernando, the former Sri Lankan defence attaché to the UK.
Almost a year ago on 4 February 2018, Brig. Fernando was filmed issuing throat cutting gestures against Tamil protesters who were gathered outside the Sri Lankan High Commission in London.
On Monday, Westminster Chief Magistrate Ms Sonia Henley ruled, in absentia, she was satisfied that the Sri Lankan brigadier was guilty of committing a public order offence and issued a warrant for his arrest.
