Wednesday September 02, 2015

A Danish parliamentarian has called for an international probe on the disappearance of over 140,000 Tamils in the final stages of Eelam War IV. Following discussions with Tamil Diaspora organisations in Denmark, Nikolaj Villumsen, an MP from the Red-Green Alliance party, has stated that he is shocked to hear that while the perpetrators of mass atrocities walk freely in Sri Lanka, the relatives of the victims are having to struggle in vain for justice. The Danish MP has also called for international human rights monitors to be allowed to travel freely in Sri Lanka so that the mass atrocities and other human rights violations and be investigated.
