Devotees complain of excessive military, police presence outside Nallur Murugan Temple

Tuesday August 06, 2019

Tamils have accused the Sri Lankan government of hindering Nallur Murugan Temple's festival by stepping up the presence of its security forces.

As Nallur Murugan Temple's annual festival began today, devotees were subjected to intense checking by the military and police at the entrance points leading to the temple.

Devotees said the Sri Lankan government was using Easter terror attacks as the pretext for hindering Nallur Murugan Temple's festival.
