The EU has warned Sri Lanka that it risks losing GSP+ concessions, if the current political crisis continues.
Speaking to reporters in Colombo, Tung-Lai Margue, the EU's ambassador to Sri Lanka said: 'The government got GSP on the basis of certain commitments. If these commitments are not met, then we would consider withdrawal.'
On the question of Mahinda Rajapaksa's policy on reconciliation, the EU ambassador said: 'I don’t know what his policy on reconciliation would be like. I have fears it won’t be the one we agreed on.'
