The Tamil activist who was arrested in Oxford six months ago for carrying the Tamil Eelam national flag has been released without any charges.
Mr Sockalingam Yogalingam was arrested on 08 October 2018 by Thames Valley Police, after Sri Lankan government officials accused him of carrying the LTTE flag.
Mr Yogalingam denied the charges and said in his statement that the flag he was carrying was the national flag of Tamil Eelam, though it is similar to the LTTE flag. He was released on police bail the next day.
Today, Thames Valley Police informed Mr Yogalingam that they have decided not to charge him.
