Killing of two cops: TNA, UNP point the finger at Karuna Group

The TNA and the UNP have accused the Karuna Group of killing two Sri Lankan police officers in Batticaloa.

 

Two Sri Lankan police officers were found dead in the early hours of Friday at Vavunathivu checkpoint in Batticaloa, believed to have been shot dead on Thursday night.

 

Speaking in the parliament today, the TNA parliamentarian Mr M.A.Sumanthiran and the UNP parliamentarian Mr Nalin Bandara said both policemen were shot dead on the orders of the leader of Karuna Group, Mr Vinayagamoorthy Muraleetharan alias Karuna.
