Friday December 20, 2019

A prominent Kurdish scholar from Iraqi Kurdistan has called for Sri Lankan diplomats to be excluded from Kurdish genocide conferences.

Speaking at a genocide research meeting held in Erbil recently, Dr Ibrahim Malazada, a lecturer at Soran University in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, said representatives of all states that committed genocide against people should be excluded from conferences held on the genocide of the Kurds.

In his remarks, the Kurdish scholar singled out Sri Lanka, explaining to other Kurdish scholars and foreign consul generals, in particular Indian and Palestinian diplomats, who were present, that the island-state committed genocide against Tamils.
