New Zealand accuses Sri Lanka of taking a 'cheap shot'

Tuesday April 30, 2019

New Zealand's deputy prime minister has accused the Sri Lankan government of misusing his country.

Commenting on Sri Lanka's linking of Easter terror bombings to Christchurch mosque attack, New Zealand's Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters said: 'It's a slightly cheap shot, I suppose, to try to explain it away. Let's see the evidence.'

'Sometimes it pays to get the facts first before you beat your lips with an opinion,' Mr Peters added.
