Rajapaksa: Sri Lanka under threat from enemy forces

Tuesday January 01, 2019

Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa has issued a warning claiming his motherland is under threat from enemy forces.

In his New Year message released today, the former Sri Lankan President said: ' With the dawn of 2019, it is my fervernt hope that all Sri Lankans will be able to lay aside differences based on religion and ethnicity and unite to protect our motherland from enemy forces.'

In light of Mr Rajapaksa claiming a few days ago that the TNA is trying to divide the country by changing the constitution, political observers suggested that he has made a veiled reference to the TNA, the West and India as the country's enemy forces.
