Rajapaksa's associate tells Muslims to go back to Arabic countries

Thursday May 09, 2019

An associate of Mahinda Rajapaksa has said Muslims who do not want to live in Sri Lanka in harmony should go back Arabic countries.

Speaking in the Sri Lankan parliament on Wednesday, Mr Wimal Weerawansa called upon the government to shut down Arabic schools functioning in the island.

When Muslim government ministers responded by urging Mr Weerawansa to withdraw his comments, he said: 'If you can't live as one people in this country, then go back to where you came from.'
