Sinhalese can rule without the support of 'minorities' - Gnanasara Thero

Tuesday November 19, 2019

The leader of the extremist group Bodhu Bala Sena (BBS) has announced that as the Sinhalese now have a strong leader, he will dismantle his organisation after the general election.

Commenting on Mr Gotabaya Rajapaksa's victory in the presidential election, Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero said the election results have demonstrated that the Sinhalese can rule the country without the support of minorities.

'Now that the Sinhalese have a strong leader, I see no reason why Bodhu Bala Sena should continue to function,' the hardline monk added.
