The Sri Lankan government has tasked its military the process of locking-up tourists arriving from Coronavirus-hit countries for fourteen days.

A special internment facility has been built by the Sri Lankan military in the villages of Punanai and Kandalkaadu, in Batticaloa, for this purpose.

Sri Lankan military sources said initially tourists and Sri Lankan expatriates arriving from Iran, South Korea and Italy will be locked up in those camps; followed by tourists from other countries.
