Sri Lankan troops recover US made pistol from ISIS hideout

Wednesday May 01, 2019

The Sri Lankan security forces have recovered a cache of weapons hidden by ISIS terrorists, including a US made pistol, in Amparai district.

Defence sources in Colombo said the weapons were recovered during a search operation conducted today in a land belonging to a lawyer in Malkampiddi village of Samanthurai police division in Amparai district.

It is suspected that the pistol may have been captured by ISIS terrorists from the Iraqi military in 2014 and transported to Sri Lanka.
