Tamil sidelined, Mandarin takes over signboards in Sri Lanka

Signboards are appearing in Mandarin in the Sri Lankan capital, with Tamil language being sidelined.


Whilst the signboards confirm the growing influence of China, Tamils are concerned that their language is being systematically sidelined.


Many of the signboards are placed by government officials, Tamils in the Sri Lankan capital have alleged.
