Wednesday September 25, 2019

An Eelam Tamil who had made the UK his home has been executed by Malaysian police while on holiday.

Mr Janarthanan Vijayaratnam, aged 40, was executed along with two Malaysian Tamil men, Thavaselvan Govindasamy and Mahendran Santhira Segaran, on 14 September.

Mr Vijayaratnam's wife has reportedly gone missing.

The Malaysian police have claimed the three men were shot dead during a car chase after one of them began firing at a police patrol vehicle.

However, a lawyer representing the families of the victims told The Guardian that gunshots wounds were found on the victims' heads suggesting they were executed.
