State-sponsored Sinhala colony in Nayaru?

The Sri Lankan government is planning to set-up a Sinhala colony in Nayaru, a traditional Tamil village in Mullaithivu, civil servants have told the Tamil Polity.

Already, up to three hundred Sinhala fishermen have set-up temporary shelters in the coastal village, encroaching upon Nayaru sea where Tamil fishermen have been engaged in fishing for many hundreds of centuries.

Civil servants at the District Secretariat in Mullaithivu have told the Tamil Polity that the government is planning to build permanent homes in the area for the encroaching Sinhala fishermen.
