Victims of Tamil Research Conference massacre remembered

A remembrance event was held today in Jaffna to pay tribute to the victims of Tamil Research Conference massacre.

On this fateful day in 1974, armed Sri Lankan police attacked Tamils assembled at the Tamil Research Conference in Muttaveli, Jaffna.

Nine Tamils were killed after being electrocuted when an overhead electric cable fell on them as result of the firing by Sri Lankan police.

Today’s memorial, held at Muttaveli, was organised by TNA’s NPC members.
