Wigneswaran rejects Sri Lanka’s new constitution

C.V.Wigneswaran has accused the Sri Lankan government of seeking to uphold the supremacy of the Sinhala Buddhists in the proposed constitution.

Commenting on the proposal unveiled last week by the Sri Lankan government  for the enactment of a new constitution, the chief minister of Northern Tamil Eelam accused the government of ignoring the root causes of the ethnic conflict and the just political demands of the Tamil people.

Mr Wigneswaran also accused the leadership of the TNA of failing to present a concrete proposal that fulfills the aspirations of the Tamil people.
